When I was young I always knew what I wanted to do: I wanted to spend the rest of my life drawing and painting. When I was young I always knew what I wanted to do: I wanted to spend the rest of my life drawing and painting. From primary school to High School my focus was honed by a handful of people that created opportunities for me to flourish. I initially did a stint at Mt. San Antonio College then moved onto Art Center College of Design and graduated with a BFA in 1996. From there I did a short internship with Dreamworks Interactive, began teaching in Higher Ed and freelance illustration. The bulk of my freelance work is doing commissions and visual development for film. Most recently I acquired my MA in Visual Development from Academy of Art University.
I work in multiple mediums from graphite, charcoal, pastels, colored pencils, oils, acrylics and digital. I will work in whatever medium gets the job done and looks great.
Since 1997, I have been an educator in Higher Education. I'm primarily an instructor at Mt. San Antonio College, Cal Baptist University and formerly at The Art Institutes of California - Inland Empire. I hold an Masters of Art in Visual Development from Academy of Art University and a Bachelors of Fine Art from Art Center College of Design. I've taught a variety of classes and in many cases wrote the curriculum for: Beginning Drawing, Life and Gesture Drawing, Visual Development, Perspective Drawing, Character Design, Sketching Techniques, Editorial Illustration, Mixed Media Illustration, Rapid Visualization, Traditional and Digital Color Theory, Design Fundamentals, and Typography.
